The soundfont was developed specifically for such genres as rock'n'roll, country rock, R&B, blues, progressive rock, etc. The focus has been on classical rock instruments such as guitars, organs (Hammond B3), brass, etc. It fits into 8-Mbyte RAM, is GM compatible and includes some additional presets in banks 1, 2 and 3. The soundfont contains 530 user samples (about 8 Mbytes), 180 melodic presets and 2 percussive presets.
This is a GM/GS compatible soundfont based on samples from the well-known Roland Sound Canvas. This is the scc1.sf2 Roland collection that I downloaded from your site. I have tuned it. This is a very good SoundFont and is complete. It sounds almost exactly like my RAP 10 card, and also like my friend's SC55. The benefit of using this SoundFont is that it uses standardized sounds invented by Roland. It is also very small in size for computers with limited RAM. Despite the small size, the sounds are very good. SBLive users need to get the latest drivers from www.sblive.com or some instruments will be out of tune (by a minor 3rd approx.). Strange but true.
